First Gear Launch (Visualized)
1Pull in the Clutch all the way.
2Click the Shifter down into 1st Gear.
3Slowly release the clutch to find the 'Friction Zone'.
4Add a tiny bit of Throttle as the bike moves.
5Release the clutch fully and feet up!
Clutch Lever (Left Hand)
Essential Control
The most important control for beginners. It connects and disconnects the engine's power to the rear wheel.
Pro Safety Tips
- Use all four fingers for maximum control.
- The 'Friction Zone' is where the bike starts to move.
- Squeeze it in to stop or shift gears.

Why is Neutral in the middle?
Neutral is positioned between 1st and 2nd gear so you don't accidentally hit it while downshifting to a stop. 1 Down, Neutral, 2-3-4-5 Up is the global standard for most motorcycles.
Tip: When you're a beginner, it's easiest to find Neutral while the bike is still rolling slowly toward a stop.
